There's a quote by writer (& dancer) Twyla Tharp that I think of often when I feel like I'm getting nowhere fast "Art is the only way to run away without leaving the house".
With this piece, I wanted to bring together deep navy tones with soft aqua green shades and turquoises, lifted by a buttery cream contrast. It took a few layers to build up, but in the end it came together just the way I hoped.
